A Fish From The Sea's Edge

A Fish from the Sea's Edge, by Silas & Adam Birtwistle was unveiled at the Eleventh Conference of The Parties for Biological Diversity, Hyderabad, India, 2012.

 

The materials for this sculpture were plastic marine debris sent from 35 countries around the world by Go4BioDiv youth delegates to raise awareness of coastal communities and the environment plights they face.

From 30 November–10 December 2015, Paris will host the 21st UN Conference on Climate Change (COP21). These are the crunch talks in negotiating vital international agreements in the battle against climate change.


This sculpture, currently on exhibition at The Chapel in Bruton, Somerset raises awareness of the talks and focuses on three core areas debated at the summit: Harmful gases (CFCs) caused by refrigerators The global food security system The needs, rights and voices of humankind from around the world.

 

The piece is displayed in a small freezer with a glass door.
